Cafe Cimino Country Inn
Tim and Melody Urbanic, entrepreneurs/owners of Café Cimino in Sutton invite you to share their new dream come true, Café Cimino Country Inn, just 2 blocks up Main Street from the original location. Now, nearing its 9th year of business, Café Cimino, previously housed in a renovated 107 year old hardware store, has expanded to a full service Country Inn. Tim and Melody opened Café Cimino on Valentine’s Day 1999. They created a restaurant that is considered one of West Virginia’s finest. The couple recently acquired the 103 year old P. J. Berry Estate at the end of town, on the Elk River. The property, once operated for a short time as a Bed and Breakfast, had been vacant for several years. The Urbanics and their family and staff revived the beautiful Colonial Revival Mansion and surrounding dwellings on the property; breathing new life not only into the estate, but into the small community of Sutton. Tim and Melody always wanted to serve their guests in a “home ”-a real house, and now that dream has come true. And the lucky overnight guests at the Inn not only enjoy one of the finest meals to be had in West Virginia, but are now also waking up to Chef Tim’s wonderful gourmet breakfast. The Lodging… The Inn offers guests 10 beautiful and comfortable rooms in three different venues. There are 4 guest rooms in the historic Main House, complete with antiques and furnishings in keeping with the period of the home, 4 guest rooms in the very private Carriage House, and 2 Suites in an old “brick cottage”,separate and charming, right behind the Main House and overlooking the Elk River. Seven of the 10 guest rooms have balconies overlooking the Elk River and the grounds. All rooms have private baths. Seven of the rooms are named for the Urbanic’s grandchildren (Lucia, Logan, Alex, Benjamin, Annabella, Emma Rae and Miles) the two suites are named for Tim’s mother, Julia, and Melody’s mother, Irma Louise. The tenth guest room is named for the Country Inn’s Golden Retriever, Cimino’s Maggie May. Café Cimino Country Inn Grounds… The grounds are lovely and gently ramble along the scenic Elk River. 500 feet of river access invites fishermen to try their skill at fly fishing as well as bass fishing. There’s a bar, Cimino’s Little Dishes, right on the Elk River, where guests unwind, relax and enjoy a bottle of wine and Chef Tim’s newest “tappas” -little dishes Italian style. Romantic couples find their way to the three little café tables for two by Maggie’s Pond, the 100 year goldfish pond at the edge of the lawn and overlooking the Elk River. Whether you relax in your bedroom, the restaurant, the bar, the porch, patio or deck, or ramble along the riverside, Café Cimino affords the discriminating guest casual elegance and beautiful, peaceful atmosphere in which to just relax. And then there’s the dining…. Chef Tim specializes in Southern Italian Cuisine and Euro/Mediterranean dishes. Whenever possible he uses organically grown herbs and vegetables from the family farm managed by Executive Sous Chef, son Eli. Chef Tim proudly declares the Inn as a 100% no-trans-fat establishment. Grandma & Grandpa Cimino were Italian immigrants who taught Tim about food-from appreciating the ethnic flavors, to growing the herbs & vegetables, to cooking the famous Cimino family recipes.
