While youre with us, you can also ride the Cass Railroad train, an old steam locomotive that used to bring logs off the mountain, but now offers visitors a rare view of the long past logging days as well as spectacular views from the top of the mountain.
In between bike trips on the Trail or rides on the Train, visit the National Radio Astronomy Telescope, where they listen to outer space through 11 telescopes, one being the largest moveable telescope in the world.
Snowshoe Ski Resort, 15 miles form our B & B, offers great skiing in the winter and varied activities in the summer, including the Chili Cookoff, Freedomfest bike week and mountain bike trails.
Speaking of Freedomfest, Pocahontas county offers some of the most enjoyable motorcycle trips on the east coast. We have maps showing typical trips, from 60 miles to almost 200 mile day trips. Or just get a map and enjoy exploring the many mountain roads here.
